Better Access to Clinical Trials Could Save Lives
Armen, a security guard at the Montreal General Hospital is lucky. Although he was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer, it was caught early, and he was able to participate in a clinical trial of immunotherapy. Today, Armen is in remission and on the job.
Unfortunately, that’s not the case for most Quebecers diagnosed with this disease and who live far from downtown Montreal, where most clinical trials are held. That’s why Dr. Jonathan Spicer, Thoracic Surgeon (MGH-MUHC), has a research project aimed at increasing geographic equity for these trials. Where you live shouldn’t determine your chances of surviving cancer. Together we can offer better access to the best care and support for patients from Gaspé to Gatineau, from southern Quebec to Nunavik.
Together Against Cancer is a unique collaboration between the Cedars Cancer Foundation and the Montreal General Hospital Foundation. Our goal is to raise $100 million to support transformative projects that will improve the experience, quality of life, and outcomes of cancer patients. Join us and give the best you can.
Your gift will be matched! A generous and dedicated supporter of Dr. Spicer’s work is offering to DOUBLE donations in support of this project. This anonymous donor will match gifts in support of Dr. Jonathan Spicer’s project, that are received by November 3, 2024, up to $125,000.
