Equitable Access to Innovative Cancer Care: Dr. Jonathan Spicer
Across the country, lung, esophageal and stomach cancers are the fastest growing and the most lethal, with a five-year survival rate of less than 20%. However, in the last few years, there have been remarkable advances in the treatment of thoracic cancers, and the surgeons at the Montreal General Hospital have contributed directly to these advances.
What the team wants to do now is to give more patients access to the most innovative care, the cutting-edge kind of treatments that are becoming tomorrow’s standard.
Our guest is Dr. Jonathan Spicer, Medical Director of the McGill Thoracic Oncology Network and a thoracic surgeon at the Montreal General Hospital. He is also a spokesperson for Together Against Cancer.
Together Against Cancer is a unique collaboration between the Cedars Cancer Foundation and the Montreal General Hospital Foundation. Our goal is to raise $100 million to support transformative projects that will improve the experience, quality of life, and outcomes of cancer patients. Join us and give the best you can.
